About the Alfa Romeo Montreal

The Alfa Romeo Montreal debuted as a concept at Expo 67 in Canada, so well-received that Alfa Romeo put it into production with a detuned version of the Tipo 33's racing V8. Designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, it features iconic styling cues like the slatted headlight louvres and a non-functional NACA duct on the bonnet. While its chassis was based on the 105-series Giulia, the dry-sump V8 and SPICA mechanical fuel injection elevated it to a sophisticated grand tourer. It remains a distinct collector's item, prized for its exotic engine note and 1970s 'wedge' aesthetics.
