About the Vauxhall Viscount
The Vauxhall Viscount was introduced in 1966 as a more luxurious, range-topping version of the Cresta PC. It was designed to compete with the Rover P5 and Jaguar S-Type, featuring a vinyl roof, walnut interior trim, and a high level of standard equipment for the era, including electric windows and a heated rear screen. Mechanically, it utilised the 3.3-litre straight-six engine paired with a GM Powerglide automatic transmission, prioritising effortless cruising over outright performance. Today, it is a rare sight on UK roads, valued by enthusiasts for its distinct 'Coke-bottle' styling and period-correct opulence.
