About the Vauxhall Monaro VXR
Imported from Holden in Australia and rebadged for the UK, the Monaro VXR 6.0 was the ultimate evolution of the 'Aussie muscle' formula. Replacing the earlier 5.7-litre version, this 2005 update featured the LS2 V8 from the Corvette C6, delivering a significant jump in torque and a top speed that finally eclipsed the legendary Lotus Carlton. It is distinguished by its aggressive 'twin nostril' bonnet vents and dual-exit exhaust. On the road, it is celebrated for its old-school character, combining a heavy manual shift and a tail-happy chassis with a surprisingly compliant ride for British B-roads.
