About the Vauxhall Astra K
The seventh-generation Astra (K) represented a significant leap forward for Vauxhall, shedding up to 200kg compared to its predecessor to improve agility and efficiency. The 1.4-litre turbocharged engine in SRi trim offers a punchy 150 PS, making it one of the more engaging mainstream hatchbacks of its era. It was the first Vauxhall to feature the OnStar personal assistant system and IntelliLink with smartphone integration as standard. While it lacked the premium cabin feel of a Golf, its sharp handling and competitive pricing made it a strong rival to the Ford Focus.
