About the TVR Tasmin
The TVR Tasmin 2.8i, the first of the 'Wedge' series, was a radical departure from the curvaceous M-Series that preceded it. Designed by Oliver Winterbottom, who had previously worked on the Lotus Elite, it featured a sharp fiberglass body over a tubular steel backbone chassis. The 2.8-litre Ford V6 provided reliable performance, while the suspension and brakes were borrowed from the Ford Cortina and Granada. It is remembered for its striking period aesthetics and for being the first production car to feature a bonded-in windscreen and a concealed radio aerial.
