About the Renault A610
The Alpine A610 was the final evolution of the rear-engined French grand tourer before the brand went dormant for two decades. While it shared its basic silhouette and glasshouse with the preceding GTA, it was a significantly re-engineered machine featuring pop-up headlights, a revised chassis, and a larger 3.0-litre PRV V6. Its rear-engine layout provided exceptional traction and a unique handling balance that challenged the Porsche 911 of its era. Despite critical acclaim for its ride quality and performance, high pricing and a lack of brand recognition outside France resulted in very low production numbers, making it a rare and sought-after modern classic today.
