About the Toyota Innova AN40

Launched in 2004 as part of Toyota's Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) project, the AN40 Innova replaced the long-running Kijang. Unlike most contemporary MPVs that used unibody construction, the Innova utilised a robust body-on-frame chassis shared with the Hilux and Fortuner, specifically engineered for the demanding road conditions of emerging markets. The 2.0-litre 1TR-FE petrol engine provided reliable, if modest, performance for up to eight passengers. Its immense success in India, Indonesia, and the Philippines established it as the definitive choice for both large families and commercial fleet operators.
