About the Kia Carens RP
The third-generation Kia Carens (RP) marked a significant design shift for the Korean brand, adopting the 'Tiger Nose' grille and a more European aesthetic under Peter Schreyer. In the UK, it was sold exclusively as a seven-seater, competing with the Ford Grand C-MAX and Renault Grand Scenic by offering a more value-oriented proposition. The 1.7-litre CRDi diesel engine was the mainstay of the range, providing sufficient torque for family duties while maintaining competitive fuel economy. While it lacks the sharp handling of some European rivals, its focus on ride comfort, interior flexibility, and a then-unrivalled seven-year warranty made it a sensible choice for used buyers.
