About the Tatra 603
The Tatra 603 was the ultimate status symbol in Socialist Czechoslovakia, reserved exclusively for high-ranking party officials and heads of industry. Continuing the aerodynamic legacy of the pre-war T77 and T87, it featured a distinctive streamlined body with three central headlights enclosed behind a glass cover. Its rear-mounted, air-cooled V8 engine was a technical marvel, utilizing hemispherical combustion chambers and twin carburettors. The 603 is celebrated by collectors for its avant-garde engineering, smooth highway cruising, and its role as a unique artifact of Cold War automotive design.
