About the Tatra 700
The Tatra 700 was the last passenger car produced by the historic Czech manufacturer, serving as a heavily modernised evolution of the long-running 613. It retained the brand's signature layout: a rear-mounted, air-cooled V8 engine driving the rear wheels, housed in a hand-built body designed by Geoff Wardle. Primarily used as a state limousine for high-ranking Czech officials, including President Miloš Zeman, the 700 struggled to compete with contemporary Western luxury cars. With only 75 units produced before Tatra shifted exclusively to truck manufacturing, it remains a rare and highly sought-after curiosity for collectors of Eastern Bloc engineering.
