About the Suzuki Wagon R Plus
The second-generation Suzuki Wagon R+ was a significant evolution of the original 'tall-boy' concept, designed to be more palatable to European tastes while retaining its class-leading interior volume. Built in Hungary alongside its twin, the Vauxhall Agila, it utilised a 1.3-litre 16-valve engine that provided surprisingly sprightly performance for its featherweight 905kg mass. Its upright architecture and high seating position offered visibility and headroom that shamed much larger cars, making it a cult favourite for urban practicality. While never considered a driver's car due to its high centre of gravity, its reliability and clever packaging have ensured a long life as a dependable second-hand runabout.
