About the Subaru Vivio
The Subaru Vivio was introduced in 1992 as a replacement for the Rex, designed to meet the updated Kei car regulations of the era. Unlike many of its three-cylinder competitors, the Vivio utilised a smooth 658cc four-cylinder engine, providing a more refined driving experience. While the base 0.7-litre models were simple urban commuters, the platform gained fame through the supercharged RX-R variant and a surprising entry into the 1993 Safari Rally. Its lightweight construction and independent suspension across all four wheels made it remarkably agile for its class.
