About the Fiat Cinquecento Sporting

Launched in 1994 as the flagship of Fiat's city car range, the Cinquecento Sporting transformed the humble 'Type 170' into a genuine enthusiast's choice. It featured a 1.1-litre FIRE engine from the Punto, a close-ratio gearbox, and a 20mm lower suspension with a front anti-roll bar. Visually distinguished by body-coloured bumpers, Speedline alloy wheels, and vibrant red seatbelts, it became a cult classic for its 'fizz' and go-kart-like handling. Despite its modest power, its low kerb weight of just 735kg made it a favourite for urban driving and amateur rallying.
