About the Fiat Cinquecento

The Cinquecento Sporting was the enthusiast's choice in Fiat's 1990s city car range, replacing the standard 704cc or 903cc units with the 1.1-litre 'FIRE' engine. It featured shorter gear ratios, a 20mm lower ride height, and anti-roll bars to provide surprisingly agile handling despite its modest power output. Visually distinguished by colour-coded bumpers, sports seats, and red seatbelts, it became a cult classic for its 'momentum car' driving dynamics. While over a million Cinquecentos were built, the Sporting has become increasingly rare and sought after as a gateway into Italian car collecting.
