About the Subaru Forester SH

The third-generation 'SH' Forester marked a significant shift for Subaru, moving away from the low-slung station wagon aesthetic of its predecessors toward a taller, more conventional compact SUV profile. Built on a modified Impreza platform, it retained Subaru's signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and low-centre-of-gravity boxer engine, ensuring stable handling despite the increased ride height. The 2.0 XS trim was a popular mid-range choice in European and Australian markets, offering a balance of equipment and utility without the higher running costs of the turbocharged XT. While it lost some of the 'sleeper' performance character of earlier models, it gained substantial interior space and improved ground clearance, solidifying its reputation as a dependable all-weather family vehicle.
