About the Subaru Forester SF
Launched as one of the first true crossovers, the SF-generation Forester combined the Impreza's proven chassis and symmetrical all-wheel-drive system with a practical, high-roofed wagon body. The 2.0 Turbo (often badged as the S-Turbo in Europe) utilised a detuned version of the EJ20 engine found in the WRX, offering a more compliant ride while retaining surprising cross-country pace. Its low centre of gravity, thanks to the boxer engine layout, allowed it to out-handle almost every contemporary SUV. Today, it is increasingly sought after as a 'sleeper' classic that offers genuine utility alongside a characterful, rally-bred driving experience.
