About the SsangYong Turismo
The SsangYong Turismo, known as the Korando Turismo in its home market, is a massive MPV designed to offer maximum utility at a budget price point. Replacing the divisive Rodius, it retains its predecessor's gargantuan proportions, measuring over five metres long with a three-metre wheelbase. The 2.2-litre diesel engine introduced in late 2015 provided a significant upgrade in refinement and torque over the earlier 2.0-litre unit, paired with a Mercedes-sourced 7-speed automatic gearbox. While its driving dynamics are hampered by significant body roll and a heavy kerb weight, its ability to carry seven adults and 875 litres of luggage simultaneously remains almost unique in the European market.

SsangYong Turismo fun facts
- The Turismo features an unconventional 2+2+3 seating layout, allowing for a 'walk-through' aisle to the rear bench.
- Despite its MPV body, the EX trim includes a selectable four-wheel-drive system with a low-range transfer box, a rarity in the people-carrier segment.
- Its predecessor, the Rodius, was so famously unattractive that it won the 'WTF' award from Top Gear Magazine in 2009.
