About the Oldsmobile Silhouette
The second-generation Oldsmobile Silhouette abandoned the radical 'dustbuster' styling of its predecessor in favour of a more traditional, steel-bodied design. Marketed as the premium entry in General Motors' U-body minivan trio, it was often referred to as the 'Cadillac of minivans' due to its upscale interior and high equipment levels. The 2000 model featured the 3.4-litre LA1 V6, providing adequate power for family duties while maintaining a focus on ride comfort. Despite its luxury positioning, it struggled to compete with the dominant Chrysler and Honda rivals, eventually being phased out with the Oldsmobile brand in 2004.
