About the Skoda Fabia vRS Mk2
The second-generation Fabia vRS marked a radical departure from its diesel-powered predecessor, adopting a sophisticated 1.4-litre 'Twincharger' engine that utilised both a supercharger and a turbocharger. Sharing its underpinnings with the Volkswagen Polo GTI and SEAT Ibiza Cupra, it was exclusively paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. While its tall, narrow stance lacked the aggressive look of rivals, it offered surprising pace and a more compliant ride than many contemporary hot hatches. However, the model is well-known among collectors for the reliability concerns of the early 'CAVE' engine code, which was revised to the 'CTHE' version in late 2012.

Skoda Fabia vRS Mk2 fun facts
- The 1.4 TSI engine uses a supercharger for low-end torque and a turbocharger for high-end power, a combination known as 'twincharging'.
