About the SEAT Ibiza Cupra Mk3
The Mk3 (6L) Ibiza Cupra was the performance flagship of SEAT's best-selling model, designed by Walter de Silva to inject a more aggressive, sporty character into the brand. Powered by the Volkswagen Group's ubiquitous 1.8-litre 20-valve turbo engine, it delivered a punchy 180 PS, making it one of the fastest front-wheel-drive cars in its class at the time. It featured a bespoke 'Agile Chassis' setup with stiffer suspension and larger brakes compared to the standard Ibiza, providing a raw and engaging driving experience. While the interior was often criticised for its hard plastics, the Cupra's mechanical reliability and tuning potential have made it a cult favourite among hot hatch enthusiasts.
