About the Simca Aronde
The Simca Aronde was the French automaker's first original unibody design, moving away from its history of building Fiats under licence. Introduced in late 1955 for the 1956 model year, the 90A generation featured the new 1.3-litre 'Flash' engine, replacing the smaller 1.2-litre unit of the original Simca 9. Its American-influenced styling, complete with subtle tail fins and a full-width grille, made it a massive commercial success, briefly becoming France's best-selling car. Collectors value the Aronde for its robust mechanicals and its role in establishing Simca as a major independent force in the 1950s.
