About the Saab 9-3
The second-generation Saab 9-3 moved to GM's Epsilon platform, trading the traditional hatchback body for a more conventional saloon profile to better compete with the BMW 3 Series. The Aero trim represents the performance pinnacle for 2005, featuring a high-output turbocharged engine and a lowered, stiffened chassis. While it shares underpinnings with the Opel Vectra, Saab engineers heavily revised the suspension and steering to maintain the brand's distinct driving character. It remains a cult favourite for its excellent seats, driver-centric 'cockpit' ergonomics, and understated Scandinavian design.
