About the Lexus IS XE20
The second-generation Lexus IS (XE20) was designed to challenge the BMW 3 Series with a focus on refinement and L-finesse styling. The IS 250 features the 4GR-FSE V6 engine, notable for being one of the few naturally aspirated V6s in its class to offer a manual transmission, though the smooth 6-speed automatic was more popular. In SE trim, it provided a high level of standard equipment including a 13-speaker audio system and keyless entry. While it lacked the outright agility of its Bavarian rivals, it gained a reputation for exceptional build quality and cabin isolation, though direct-injection carbon buildup is a known maintenance consideration for long-term collectors.
