About the RUF SCR 4.2
Unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the RUF SCR 4.2 serves as a bridge between RUF's traditional Porsche-based builds and their later bespoke monocoque cars. While it retains a 993-generation body-in-white, it is heavily modified with a carbon-fibre skin and an integrated roll cage, styled to resemble the classic 964. The heart of the car is a 4.2-litre evolution of the water-cooled Mezger flat-six, delivering a visceral, high-revving experience that modern turbocharged Porsches lack. With only approximately 15 units produced, it remains one of the rarest and most sought-after naturally aspirated RUF models.

RUF SCR 4.2 fun facts
- The 4.2-litre engine uses massive 105.1mm pistons and a bespoke crankshaft to achieve its displacement, a configuration shared with the RGT 4.2.
- Despite its modern water-cooled engine, the SCR 4.2 uses a modified Porsche 993 dashboard to maintain a classic analogue aesthetic.
- The 'SCR' nameplate originally debuted in 1978 as RUF's first high-performance naturally aspirated 911, designed to fill the gap between the SC and the Turbo.
