About the Rover Mini
The 1995 Rover Mini 1.3i represents the penultimate 'Mk VI' generation of the original Mini, featuring the long-running A-Series engine updated with single-point fuel injection (SPi) to meet modern emissions standards. While the basic 1959 silhouette remained, this era saw the Mini move upmarket with improved interior materials, walnut dashboards, and better soundproofing. It retains the legendary 'go-kart' handling and compact dimensions that defined the model for four decades, though the SPi engine prioritises reliability and drivability over the raw performance of earlier Cooper variants. As one of the last iterations before the BMW-led redesign, it is highly prized by collectors for its blend of classic charm and slightly improved usability.

Rover Mini fun facts
- The 1.3i SPi models were the first Minis to feature a front-mounted radiator in some export markets, though most UK models retained the side-mounted setup until the 1996 MPi update.
- Despite being over 30 years old in design by 1995, the Mini was still being hand-assembled at the Longbridge plant alongside much more modern machinery.
- The 1.3-litre A-Plus engine used in this model was a direct descendant of the engine found in the original 1950s Morris Minor.
