About the Renault Scenic Mk4
The fourth-generation Renault Scenic marked a radical departure for the pioneer of the compact MPV segment, adopting a sleek, crossover-influenced silhouette designed by Laurens van den Acker. Launched in 2016, it famously featured 20-inch alloy wheels as standard across the entire range to maintain its concept-car proportions. The 1.3 TCe engine, introduced in 2018, was a co-development with Daimler, offering significantly improved refinement and efficiency over the earlier 1.2-litre units. While it sacrificed some of the interior modularity of its predecessors, such as individual sliding rear seats, it gained a more premium cabin and a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Production ended in 2022 as Renault pivoted the Scenic nameplate toward a fully electric SUV future.
