About the Renault 4CV
Developed in secret during the German occupation, the Renault 4CV was the first French car to exceed one million units in production. Its rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and monocoque construction were highly advanced for an economy car in 1947. The '750' trim refers to the 747cc engine introduced in 1950 to fit under the 750cc tax and competition class limits. While modest in power, its lightweight design and independent suspension made it a surprisingly capable rally car, even securing class wins at the Mille Miglia and Le Mans.
