About the Porsche Taycan J1

The Taycan launched as Porsche’s first series-production electric car in 2019; the entry-level rear-wheel-drive version followed in 2021. Its standard 79.2 kWh battery and rear motor provide relaxed everyday pace, with a two-speed rear transmission helping acceleration and efficiency. Low-mounted batteries give the heavy saloon a planted, recognisably Porsche feel through corners. A major update in 2024 changed battery and motor specifications, so these figures describe the 2021 car.
