About the Porsche 928
The 928 S4 represented a major mid-life update for Porsche's flagship grand tourer, introducing a 32-valve 5.0-litre V8 and revised aerodynamics. Designed to replace the 911, it offered a sophisticated transaxle layout and the innovative 'Weissach' rear axle for stable handling. The S4 variant is distinguished by its smoother nose and a prominent black rear wing that stands proud of the bodywork. While it never quite supplanted the 911, it remains one of the most capable long-distance cruisers of its era, blending high-speed stability with a luxurious, tech-forward cabin.
