About the Porsche 911 Dakar 992
The 911 Dakar is a limited-run homage to Porsche's 1984 Paris-Dakar victory, engineered to perform where tarmac ends. Based on the Carrera 4 GTS, it features a 50mm suspension lift—extendable by a further 30mm via a high-clearance hydraulic system—and bespoke Pirelli Scorpion All-Terrain Plus tyres. Weight-saving measures include a CFRP bonnet from the GT3, lightweight glass, and the deletion of rear seats, resulting in a kerb weight just 10kg heavier than a standard GTS. It introduces dedicated 'Rallye' and 'Offroad' modes, allowing the 911 to tackle sand dunes and gravel trails with the same poise it displays on a mountain pass.
