About the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS 982
The 718 Cayman GT4 RS is the first Cayman to receive the Rennsport treatment, effectively serving as a farewell to the internal combustion 718 platform. It borrows the high-revving 4.0-litre flat-six directly from the 992 GT3, rotated 180 degrees to fit the mid-engine layout and producing a visceral 9,000 rpm soundtrack. Distinctive carbon-fibre air intakes replace the rear quarter windows, feeding air directly into the engine just inches from the driver's ears. With a swan-neck rear wing and aggressive weight-saving measures, it lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife 23 seconds faster than the standard GT4.
