About the Pontiac Grand Prix
The eighth-generation Grand Prix launched for the 2004 model year, moving exclusively to a four-door sedan body style on the revised W-body platform. This base 3.8-litre trim features the venerable Series III 3800 V6, a pushrod engine renowned for its reliability and smooth torque delivery. While it lacked the supercharger of the GTP or the V8 of the later GXP, it offered a balanced 'Wide Track' handling profile that defined Pontiac's brand identity. As the last generation before the nameplate was replaced by the G8, it represents the final chapter of a storied American badge.
