About the Dodge Stratus JR

The second-generation Dodge Stratus sedan, internal code JR, debuted for the 2001 model year using an updated version of Chrysler's cab-forward architecture. The 2.7-litre V6 trim replaced the previous Mitsubishi-sourced 2.5-litre engine, offering a significant power increase to 200 hp. While the Stratus nameplate was also used on a coupe, the sedan was a distinct product built on the Chrysler JR platform shared with the Sebring. It was designed as a high-volume mid-size competitor, focusing on interior space and value rather than sporting dynamics.

Dodge Stratus JR fun facts

  • The 2.7-litre V6 engine in this model was part of the Chrysler LH engine family and featured a dual-stage intake manifold.
