About the Pontiac Aztek

The Pontiac Aztek is one of the most controversial designs in automotive history, often cited as a textbook example of corporate focus-group failure. Despite its polarizing 'double-decker' styling and heavy plastic cladding, it was a pioneer of the modern crossover segment, offering genuine innovation for outdoor enthusiasts. It featured a split tailgate with built-in seats, a removable center console that doubled as a cooler, and an optional integrated tent and air mattress. While a sales flop when new, it has gained significant cult status and collector interest in recent years, bolstered by its starring role as Walter White's car in the TV series Breaking Bad.
