About the Peugeot 607
The Peugeot 607 was the brand's flagship executive saloon, replacing the 605 with a focus on high-speed refinement and French luxury. While it struggled to compete with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class in terms of brand prestige and handling, it offered a distinctive, sleek design and a remarkably supple ride. The 2.2-litre HDi diesel was the most popular choice in Europe, featuring a particulate filter (FAP) which was pioneering for its time. It remains a rare sight on UK roads, valued by a small group of enthusiasts for its long-distance cruising ability and generous equipment levels.
