About the Mazda Xedos 9
The Xedos 9 was the flagship of Mazda's ambitious but ultimately ill-fated luxury sub-brand, intended to compete with Lexus and BMW. Known as the Millenia in North America and the Eunos 800 in Japan, it featured a sleek 'biodesign' aesthetic and a highly advanced multi-link suspension system. The 2.5-litre V6 variant offered a smooth, refined driving experience, though it was later overshadowed by the technically unique Miller Cycle engine. Despite its high build quality and Jaguar-like elegance, the Xedos 9 struggled to establish a premium identity before production ended in 2002.
