About the Peugeot 508 PSE
Launched as the flagship for Peugeot's new performance division, the 508 PSE (Peugeot Sport Engineered) is a sophisticated plug-in hybrid that pairs a 1.6-litre PureTech engine with two electric motors. It features a bespoke chassis setup with a widened track, 380mm front brakes, and 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. While heavy due to its 11.8kWh battery, the all-wheel-drive system provides immediate low-end torque and impressive mid-range punch. It serves as a spiritual successor to the 405 Mi16, though its high list price and niche appeal resulted in low production numbers before the 2023 facelift.
