About the Peugeot 2008 Mk1
The first-generation Peugeot 2008 was a pivotal model for the brand, replacing the 207 SW and capitalising on the burgeoning B-SUV segment. The 2016 facelift introduced a more rugged aesthetic with a vertical grille and 'lion claw' LED rear lights, moving it further away from its estate-car roots. Central to its appeal was the 1.2-litre PureTech three-cylinder engine, which won International Engine of the Year multiple times for its balance of efficiency and punchy mid-range torque. Inside, it featured the 'i-Cockpit' layout with a small steering wheel and high-set dials, a setup that remains a Peugeot hallmark. While front-wheel drive only, many Allure models featured 'Grip Control' to improve traction on loose surfaces.
