About the Peugeot 106

The Phase 2 Peugeot 106 Rallye was launched as a purist's alternative to the more refined 106 GTI, following the success of the high-revving 1.3-litre Phase 1. It features a 1.6-litre 8-valve TU5J2 engine that trades the original's peaky nature for greater mid-range flexibility and torque. To save weight, Peugeot omitted power steering, electric windows, and soundproofing, resulting in a kerb weight of just 865kg. Recognisable by its white steel wheels and Peugeot Sport decals, it is celebrated for its telepathic steering and adjustable torsion-bar handling.
