About the Oldsmobile 98
The eighth-generation Oldsmobile 98, introduced in 1965, represented the brand's most luxurious offering, sharing the C-body platform with Cadillac. It debuted the 425 cubic-inch 'Super Rocket' V8, which utilised a larger bore than the previous 394 engine to provide effortless torque for the heavy chassis. The 1965 redesign introduced a more sculpted look with 'coke-bottle' rear wings and a new Turbo-Hydramatic transmission. As a flagship, it featured high-end amenities such as power seats, power windows, and an optional 'Guide-Matic' automatic headlight dimmer.
