About the Nissan Pixo
The Nissan Pixo was a badge-engineered version of the Suzuki Alto, manufactured by Maruti Suzuki in India to provide Nissan with a low-cost entry into the European A-segment. Launched during the global financial crisis, it prioritised low insurance groups, high fuel economy, and sub-100g/km CO2 emissions to appeal to budget-conscious commuters. While the interior is basic with extensive use of hard plastics, its lightweight chassis and thrummy three-cylinder engine make it surprisingly agile in tight city traffic. It remains a popular choice on the used market for new drivers seeking minimal running costs.
