About the Mitsubishi Pajero V60
The third-generation 'V60' Pajero represented a radical engineering shift for Mitsubishi, moving from a traditional body-on-frame design to a monocoque chassis with an integrated ladder frame. This change significantly improved on-road handling and safety while maintaining the model's legendary off-road prowess. The 3.2-litre DI-D '4M41' engine became the workhorse of the range, offering substantial torque for towing and green-laning. Known as the Shogun in the UK and Montero in other markets, this generation solidified the Pajero's reputation for durability, further cemented by Mitsubishi's dominant run in the Dakar Rally during the early 2000s.
