About the Mitsubishi L200 Mk5

The fifth-generation Mitsubishi L200, known as the Series 5 in the UK, represented a significant leap forward in refinement for the nameplate. The Barbarian trim was the range-topping 'lifestyle' variant, featuring a distinctive 'J-curve' design between the cab and the bed that allowed for a more reclined rear seat angle, improving passenger comfort. It debuted the 2.4-litre 4N15 MIVEC all-aluminium diesel engine, which was lighter and more efficient than the previous 2.5-litre unit. The Barbarian is highly regarded for its Super Select 4WD-II system, which allows for permanent four-wheel drive on tarmac, a rarity in the segment that provides superior grip when unladen.
