About the Mitsubishi L200 Mk4
The fourth-generation Mitsubishi L200, known as the Triton in many markets, marked a radical departure from the boxy utility vehicles of the past with its 'J-line' styling. Designed to appeal to lifestyle buyers as much as tradespeople, it featured a more spacious cabin and improved ride quality while maintaining a one-tonne payload. The 2.5-litre DI-D common-rail diesel engine provided reliable torque, though it was later joined by a more powerful 175bhp variant. Its Super Select 4WD system, derived from the Pajero, allowed for high-range four-wheel drive on tarmac, a rarity in the pickup segment at the time.
