About the Nissan Navara D23
The D23-generation Nissan Navara, marketed as the NP300, marked a significant shift in the pick-up segment by introducing a five-link coil-spring rear suspension on Double Cab models. This setup aimed to provide SUV-like ride quality and handling without sacrificing its one-tonne payload or 3,500kg towing capacity. Powered by a Renault-sourced 2.3-litre dCi engine, the twin-turbo variant offers a broad torque band suitable for both heavy-duty work and motorway cruising. While it remains a rugged body-on-frame workhorse, the interior and technology were heavily influenced by Nissan's contemporary crossovers like the Qashqai.
