About the Mitsubishi FTO

The Mitsubishi FTO GPX was the flagship of the FTO range, featuring the innovative 2.0-litre 6A12 MIVEC V6 engine. Designed primarily for the Japanese domestic market, it gained a massive cult following in the UK and New Zealand via grey imports due to its sharp handling and exotic styling. The GPX trim is distinguished by its variable valve timing system, which allows the small-capacity V6 to scream towards an 8,250 rpm redline. It remains one of the most celebrated front-wheel-drive sports cars of the 1990s, praised for a chassis that rivals the contemporary Integra Type R.
