About the MG MGB Mark II

The MGB replaced the MGA in 1962, moving to a unitary body while retaining a conventional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Mark II revisions from 1967 brought a fully synchromesh four-speed gearbox and further mechanical improvements. This representative 1970 UK-specification roadster retains chrome bumpers, twin SU carburettors and the five-bearing 1.8-litre B-series engine. Simple engineering, a plentiful parts supply and accessible performance have helped make the MGB a popular entry into classic motoring.
