About the Maserati Mistral
The Maserati Mistral, styled by Pietro Frua, represents the end of an era as the last model to feature the legendary twin-spark, double overhead cam straight-six engine derived from the 250F Grand Prix car. Introduced in 1963, it was the first Maserati named after a wind, establishing a tradition that continues today. The 3.7-litre variant is often considered the sweet spot of the range, offering a significant performance boost over the early 3.5-litre cars while maintaining the engine's high-revving character. Its distinctive fastback silhouette and innovative glass hatchback made it one of the most modern-looking GTs of the 1960s.
