About the Lancia Y10
Launched at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show, the Lancia Y10 was a premium alternative to the Fiat Panda, featuring a distinctive Kamm-tail design and a class-leading drag coefficient of 0.31. The 'Fire' trim introduced the Fully Integrated Robotised Engine, a landmark in modular engine design known for its simplicity and efficiency. While its mechanicals were shared with the Panda, the Y10 offered a significantly more upscale interior, often featuring Alcantara and advanced electronics. It became a cult classic in Italy and remains a symbol of 1980s urban style, though surviving examples are increasingly rare due to rust issues.

Lancia Y10 fun facts
- The Y10's signature black satin tailgate was a design choice intended to hide the shut lines and give the car a more modern, unified look regardless of the body colour.
- Despite its tiny dimensions, the Y10 was remarkably aerodynamic for its time, achieving a Cd of 0.31 which was better than many contemporary sports cars.
- The Y10 was marketed as an Autobianchi in Italy, France, and Japan, but carried the Lancia badge in most other export markets like the UK and Germany.
