About the Lancia Flaminia
The Lancia Flaminia succeeded the legendary Aurelia as the brand's flagship, embodying a shift towards sharper, more modern styling influenced by Pininfarina's Florida prototypes. While the coachbuilt Coupés and Convertibles often steal the spotlight, the factory-built Berlina was a masterpiece of technical sophistication, featuring a rear-mounted transaxle for near-perfect weight distribution and inboard rear disc brakes. Its 2.5-litre V6 was a development of the world's first production V6, offering smooth, refined power suited for high-speed continental touring. Despite its high price and advanced engineering, it remained a rare sight, favoured by the Italian elite and government officials for its dignified presence.
